Η Ηλέκτρα Μπαλατσού αποτελεί ένα δυναμικό μέλος της ερευνητικής ομάδας του CLEO, συνδυάζοντας εκτενή κλινική εμπειρία ως νοσηλεύτρια με εξειδικευμένο ακαδημαϊκό υπόβαθρο στη Δημόσια Υγεία και την Ειδική Αγωγή. Είναι Υποψήφια Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ), ενισχύοντας τη μεθοδολογική της κατάρτιση.
